"Karoo China" bowl

Turned Ash wood bowl, satin sealed inside, outer surface tiled with Ostrich eggshell from South Africa's Karoo region.

The shell pores has been stained with blue ink, and the spaces between fragments smoothed with a cyan grouting.

Resembling traditional bone china at first glace, on closer inspection reveals itself to be bird of a different feather!

One-off piece, stamped and numbered on the underside.
