"Urchin" fruit bowl

Reclaimed vintage Norwegian

teak bowl; sanded to a natural matt finish on the outside, and stained a deep glossy mohogany red on the inside using a homecooked mixture of varnish and fresh beetroot.

The lower half of the outer surface is littered with nickel plated cone spikes in various sizes and lengths, suspending the bowl a few centimeters above the surface, creating a hovering effect.
